2 Corinthians 1:8
8: I think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and completely overwhelmed, and we thought we would never live through it.
2 Corinthians 4:7
- But this precious treasure--this light and power that now shine within us--is held in perishable containers, that is, in our weak bodies. So everyone can see that our glorious power is from God and is not our own.
- We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed, but we don't give up and quit.
- We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going.

I'm also concerned that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will lose its influence and that Artemis--this magnificent goddess worshiped throughout the province of Asia and all around the world--will be robbed of her prestige!"
